MS Natural Ergo 4000

The wireless mouse/keyboard at work was WAY to flaky, so I got wired ones.

The MS Natural Ergo 4000 is very good, with one major flaw: space bar. When you have a split keyboard, your thumbs rest on the edges of the space bar. So when you click it, you’re no where near the middle. With this keyboard, pushing the edge (I seem to hit the space bar with my right thumb 99% of the time) is very difficult. It sticks and doesn’t work unless you really push it hard.

I miss my MS Natural Elite (I have at home). Has a strange home/end/del/insert/pageup/pagedown setup, and its native PS/2 instead of USB (there’s an adapter that seems to work fairly well), but other than that its great.

Credit Offers:Opt Out

Call 888-567-8688
Go through the process to get your name removed from the 4 credit agencies so you don’t get blind credit offers in the mail, etc.

I got this from Charles Schwab bank so I’m confident its a legit number.

producer/consumer challenge

I’d like to challenge producers (grocery, packaging, everyone) and consumers to make/buy products that are

1. Resealable
2. Recyclable

Too often, the items for sale require you to store them in wasteful products (tinfoil, etc). It would be great if containers were resealable. I haven’t researched this, but glass jars with metal tops seem to be a good choice (while pastic is recyclable, seems most lids are not).

Also, some portion of the container (or forbid the entire thing) is not recyclable. Bread comes in pastic wrap which as fas as I know is not recyclable. Wheat thins come in cardboard which is recyclable, but the pastic inside is not.

Consumers need to act by buying only products that support these features.

20/20 LifeStyle

I can’t believe its been 14 weeks and I haven’t written about this yet.

I’ve been doing the 20/20 Lifestyle program from the ProClub.

I’ve lost 19 lbs, dropped my cholesterol from 241 to 141, dropped my triglycerides from 1491 to 92, stopped taking my blood pressure meds and my BP is 110/70 (+-10), and stopped taking Niaspan.

I’ve learned a ton about what to eat. I’ve been exercising 3-5 times a week.

Amazingly I did this even with the birth of Julia. My wife has been an incredible supporter/motivator.

Now I want to loose a little more weight and then maintain for a very long time.

Mac UI: Tab Focus

I’ve been using this mac for a bit and its SUPER GOD DAMN annoying that you can’t tab into select boxes, or between dialog options (Save, Don’t Save, Cancel). Turns out there’s an option for it, not enabled by default:

I don’t think the 1 button mouse leaves Steve’s hand.

I’m so happy Hedon@ISCABBS posted that link.

Where’s my RAM?

I bought (awhile ago)

Crucial 1GB 184-Pin DDR SDRAM DDR 400 (PC 3200) CT12864Z40B – OEM

That plus the

mushkin 1GB (2 x 512MB) 184-Pin DDR SDRAM DDR 400 (PC 3200) Dual Channel

Should be 2GB, but I’m only getting 1.5GB.

This is on my Asus A8N SLI Deluxe mobo.

The important part of the manual is:

AsusA8N-SLI_DeluxeRAMManualInfo

I have the modules installed like so:

A1 A2 B1 B2
M E M C

Where M=Mushkin, E=empty, C=Crucial.

How should I arrange this so I get all 2GB?
