New Mouse Critieria

Mouse

I love my IntelliMouse Optical USB 5 button mouse. Alas, it has lived a
long and mousey life but refuses to click once per touch (it will easily
click 2-3 times within a millisecond with one press). Looking at a new
mouse.

I like MS stuff. I don’t like logitech.

I’m not too fond of wireless (unless it comes with a dock?)
Blah, 2.4ghz? that sounds like interferance for wifi. Probably
completely pass on wireless (though my desktop is pretty messy
so it would help to remove cords, but not that important).
Hrm, maybe bluetooth? (again, with a dock?)

USB. Duh.

Must have 5+ buttons.
I’m used to having the 5th button be on the right, but now I’m
wondering if that is the best. When I go to click it, I pretty much
move my fingers off the other buttons. Maybe 2 buttons for my
thumb would be better. Though I think I use back/forward a lot
so the logical location makes a lot of sense…
I play a lot of WoW so more buttons are good.

I’m wondering if tilt is necessary (I can’t think of myself using it
much, but i won’t disable it).

Scrollwheel is mandatory.
My current (broken) mouse ‘clicks’ so you know when you’ve moved it. I
have another mouse that doesn’t ‘click’. It seems to work fine, but I
can see the clicks as useful feedback to know how far you’ve gone (not
required though).

Must be ergo, though most of them are ergo enough. I think I had a
‘Natural Wireless Laser Mouse 6000’ which was nice, but batteries
are just not happening (except maybe with a dock).

I like my MBP’s touchpad so I’m wondering if a touch mouse is
worth it..? Should i just use my iphone as a mouse? heh.

Oh, Amazon my old mouse still available. That might be the best
solution considering my KVM problem.
